Calling all bird-lovers to create these chirpy, cheerful, animated beak cards. Surprise friends with messages that pop up.

What makes birds look like birds? Their beaks! Beaks are amazing tools. A bird can use its beak as a pickax, rolling pin, sieve, fish net, spoon, knife, sledgehammer, and even a straw. These pop-up beak cards will delight your friends when you send them messages.

To make your Beak Speaks Card, fold a sheet of construction paper in half so the short ends meet. Leave the card folded. Using Crayola® Scissors, cut a slit across the fold about one-fourth of the way into the card. Bend up each of the corners where you cut to form triangles. Bend the triangles back so you can open the card.

With Crayola Twistables, color in the two large triangles that form your bird's beak. Bird beaks come in many remarkable colors, so choose bright hues. Draw your bird's head around the beak and its neck.

Write your message on the inside and outside of the card.

Fold your card closed again. Gently tuck the two beak triangles to the inside of the card and fold. When you open the card, a beak pops up! Hold the card by both sides to make the beak open and close.
