CD Case Frame for Dad

CD Case Frame for Dad craft

Make Dad glad! Turn an old CD case into a bright and bold picture frame with a message.

  • 1.

Start with a clear plastic CD case with paper jackets and extra panels removed. Ask an adult to help you carefully remove the snap-in CD panel if you have one in your CD case.

  • 2.

Using Crayola Erasable Colored Pencils, trace each panel of the CD case on Crayola Neon Color Explosion paper to make 2 backgrounds for your photos.

  • 3.

Design each background with Crayola Neon Color Explosion Markers.

  • 4.

Gather photos. Use Crayola Scissors to trim photos to fit on each background. Attach photos to backgrounds with a Crayola Glue Stick.

  • 5.

Slide papers into case slots. Add small pieces of tape to keep in place.

  • 6.

Use Crayola Window Crayons to write a Father’s Day message and add a fun border to the front of each panel of your frame. The message can be wiped off with a damp paper towel and replaced with a new message as often as you like!

  • 7.

Stand frame on a desk, bed table, or shelf to surprise Dad.

  • 8.

To create a frame that hangs: If your CD case has small holes at one end where the snap-in CD panel attached, you can create a frame that hangs! Here’s how:

  • 9.

Arrange photos on backgrounds so they present vertically instead of horizontally.

  • 10.

Push the end of a fuzzy chenille stick through one hole in the CD case. Twist the end around the CD case.

  • 11.

String a few beads on the wire.

  • 12.

Push the other end of the chenille stick through the other hole and twist to make a hanger for your frame.
