Mars Sandscapes

Mars Sandscapes craft

Mars is a harsh land with high peaks, deep canyons, and no water. Look at photos of the planet and use them as a springboard for your kids to create Martian Sandscapes.

  • 1.

Cover your work area with newspaper. Draw a Mars landscape on a large sheet of sandpaper using Crayola® Colored Pencils and Washable Markers. Include mountains, valleys, and plateaus. With a craft stick, gently scrape off sand in some places to create a smoother surface.

  • 2.

Add color with Crayola Glitter Glue, Crayola Crayons, or markers. Experiment with different effects.
