Watch science grow as kids use recycled crayons and a little solar energy to create this colorful plant holder. It's perfect for gift-giving and party activities.
1.
Gather pieces of broken Crayola® Crayons and peel off the labels.
2.
Put unwrapped crayons in a clear glass jar. Place the jar outdoors in direct sunlight.
3.
When the crayons are melted, ask an adult to use hot pads to pick up the jar—it can get really hot. Tip the jar to form melted-wax designs on the jar's edges. Put the jar in a cool spot to let the crayon wax harden.
4.
Place soil in the jar and plant a flower or other plant.
