In addition, the following may be helpful:
1. If the LID IS LOCKED, turn the timer on and let it complete one cycle, approximately 20 minutes. The lid will automatically unlock once the cycle is complete and the timer knob reaches the "unlock" symbol.
2. If the LIGHT BULB IS NOT WORKING, make sure the bulb is screwed in tightly. When resistance is first met, try giving it one extra turn. Then start your unit in this exact order: plug the unit in, turn the switch to the on position, close the lid and turn the timer all the way back. Extended Life or Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) bulbs are not recommended for use in the Crayon Maker.
3. Close the lid before turning the timer on. Turning the timer on before the lid is closed will activate the safety locking mechanism which then may not allow the lid to close. Turning the timer should be the last step in activating the crayon making process.
