Fruit Pop-Up!

Fruit Pop-Up! craft

Design a wristband with a pop-up message: It’s a great reminder to snack on fruits or veggies!

  • 1.

Five servings of fruits and vegetables a day help you stay healthy and grow up strong. It’s always time for these tasty snacks, so remind yourself with a pop-up wristband!

  • 2.

Cut the pieces. With Crayola® Scissors, cut a recycled file folder strip to fit around your wrist, with extra at each end. Keeping the folder folded, trace a juice-bottle size circle with Crayola Erasable Colored Pencils, with one side resting on the fold. Cut out the double thickness circle. Use it to trace a single circle.

  • 3.

Make the pop-up. Cut two parallel slits through the folded part of the double circle. Cut them about one-third of the way to the circle’s center. Crease the tab created between the two slits. Open the circles and pop the tab so that it sticks up in the middle of the circles.

  • 4.

Decorate the pieces. On a file folder, draw your favorite fruit, small enough to fit inside the circle when shut. Color it with Gel Markers. Cut out the fruit. Decorate the inside of the circles, maybe with delicious words such as "juicy!" or "refreshing.

Assemble the pop-up. With a Crayola Glue Stick, attach the extra circle over the pop-up tab hole. Fasten the fruit to the pop-up tab inside. Glue your circles to the middle of the strap. Overlap the strap ends. Cut slits on opposite sides of the strip. Slide the slits into each other to secure the strap around your wrist.
