Looking for a fun activity for Halloween, Mardi Gras, or the New Year? Kids can make noisemakers ahead of time to give as party favors.
1.
Collect several small recycled boxes, such as individual-serving cereal boxes. Inside each box, place outdated seeds (dry pumpkin seeds are great!) or other recycled items that rattle. Seal box flaps securely with Crayola® School Glue. Dry.
2.
Cover your work area with recycled newspaper. Paint boxes with Crayola Washable Kid's Paint and Paint Brushes. Dry.
3.
Use more paint to create funny or scary faces, or other holiday designs such as spiders, New Year's confetti, or Mardi Gras masks. Dry.
4.
Cut yarn in small pieces, tie together, and glue on top to form hair or spider legs.
5.
Ask an adult to make a small slit in each box bottom. Place glue on craft sticks and insert inside boxes to form handles. Add more glue on the outside to seal handles securely. Dry.
