Moon Rock Necklace or Pendant craft

Recycle dry Crayola Model Magic® pieces into gorgeous jewelry. Create one-of-a-kind gifts that will be worn with pride!

  • 1.

Recycle Crayola Model Magic® pieces into totally awesome projects to wear or give as gifts. Break or cut chunks into unusual shapes and sizes to make unique beads and pendants. Some surfaces will be smooth while others will be really rough, just like real moon rocks.

  • 2.

Cover your craft area with newspaper. Brush your moon rocks with paint. Use Crayola Watercolors for a textured effect, or Crayola Washable Kid's Paint for smooth moon rocks. You could also put each moon rock on a toothpick and dip it into the paint. Air-dry the pieces.

  • 3.

Dry Model Magic compound soaks up lots of paint. Add more coats to get the jewelry colors you want. Air-dry the pieces.

  • 4.

If you want to make your moon rocks shiny, brush on a glaze. Mix one part Crayola School Glue and one part water. Air-dry the moon rocks before continuing.

  • 5.

To make a necklace or medallion, ask an adult to help thread yarn or ribbon into a large yarn needle. Carefully poke the needle through your moon rocks to string them for a necklace. To make a pin or hairclip, glue a lapel pin or barrette back to the dried pieces.

Decorate your accessories with Crayola Glitter Glue for even more dramatic designs. Air-dry the glue before wearing.
