Play your favorite outdoor games with Sock Worm Beanbags you make yourself using Crayola Fabric Markers, old socks, and beans!
1.
Start with an old sock. A long sock made of 100% cotton will work best.
2.
To make it easier to design on your sock, try one of these tips: ? Pull the sock over a narrow strip of sandpaper. The sandpaper will keep the sock in place when you draw on it. Stretch the sock over the hand you don’t use for drawing. Spread fingers wide to tighten the sock fabric so it is easier to draw on.
3.
Cover your art table with recycled newspapers. Draw designs on socks with Crayola Fabric Markers.
4.
Stain Advisement: Fabric markers are permanent on clothing and contain colorants that may stain household surfaces. Wear a smock to protect clothing and cover your work surface. Recap markers as soon as possible and store in a horizontal position.
5.
When you are finished, ask an adult to iron your design. Set iron on cotton setting and iron on the reverse side using a back and forth motion for 4 minutes. Or place garment in the dryer for 30 minutes on the hottest setting. This will fix the color to the fabric.
6.
Scoop dry beans into the sock so it is about half full to make the sock worm saggy and squirmy. Add more beans for a less saggy worm.
7.
Tie the end of the sock. You can tie the whole sock in a knot or cut a slit in the end to make two strips to tie together tightly.
8.
Play hopscotch or a bean bag toss game with your Sock Worm. Make more than one worm so you can play with friends. Use Crayola Outdoor products to make up your own outdoor games, like Big Fish Hopscotch!
