If possible, go with an adult to explore a local pond. Read books about ponds, such as Pond by Donald Silver. What pond life fascinates you? Can you find those creatures in your pond?

Use white Crayola® Model Magic® to sculpt a pond and the area around it. Knead the color from Crayola Washable Markers into the Model Magic. If you blend it a little, you’ll get a marbled effect. That looks a lot like water. Blend it a lot, and you’ll get solid colors for rabbits, frogs, or cattails. Press the pieces together to assemble your pond. Damp Model Magic sticks to itself.

Decorate your pond with chenille sticks (maybe for cattails) or other craft items if you like. Air-dry your sculpture overnight.
