Ask families to recycle magazines, travel brochures, flyers, greeting cards, and other picture sources for your group.

Read stories and poems. Sing songs. Do fingerplays. What fun to pick out the rhyming words.

To make briefcases: Cover a work area with newspaper. Put on a Crayola® Art Smock. Paint the front and back of a file folder with Crayola® Washable Paint and So Big® Brushes. Dry overnight.

Glue the sides of the file folder closed with Crayola® School Glue.

Cut a construction paper briefcase handle with Crayola® Scissors. Glue the handle to one side of the top. Dry overnight.
7.
To make rhyming pictures: From recycled magazines, cut out pictures. Divide them into groups of items with rhyming names, such as: whale, pail, tail, sail, mail; hat, cat, bat, mat, gnat.
8.
Glue one of the rhyming word pictures on the outside of the suitcase. Dry overnight.
9.
Mix up all of the other pictures. With your friends, find pictures with words that rhyme and file them in the matching briefcases.
