An automatic leveling dome always keeps the blade at the correct angle for cutting. The blade (inside the green plastic compartment, covered by the dome) is engaged only when used on a rigid surface, so skin is safe, but paper can be cut smoothly! Always begin by protecting your work surface using the mini cutting mat included with the Ultimate Cutter. For larger projects, make sure the entire work surface is protected (a large piece of cardboard works well). The red arrow on the blade compartment indicates blade direction.
