Is it a Rothko? A Kandinsky? A Picasso? Or is it YOURS?! Almost anything goes with abstract art, inside and outside the recycled box!
1.
Looking for a project that’s unique? Here’s one unlike anything you’ve ever done! And you’re recycling a box into something beautiful.
2.
Make a frame for your art first. That seems backwards, but you’ll see why soon! Ask an adult to help cut a rectangle opening in the front of a medium- sized, fairly flat cardboard box.
3.
Cover your craft area with newspaper. Paint the inside and the outside of your frame in contrasting colors of Crayola Washable Kid’s Paint so that your art will really stand out! Blend and overlap colors to get different looks.
4.
Decorate a few sheets of Crayola Black Color Explosion™ Paper with the Color Explosion Markers. Every mark you make reveals a surprise color. Add twinkles with Crayola Glitter Glue. You are creating abstract art, so be adventuresome with your design! Air-dry the glue.
5.
Cut out Color Explosion pieces in funky shapes and several sizes. Glue them to the inside—and outside— of your painted frame. To get an eye-popping 3-D effect, glue your decorated pieces on little piles of cardboard scraps. Add Glitter Glue to the outside of the box, too. Air-dry the glue.
